POEIER

A transformation of food waste from the Afrikaanderwijk market, in the south of Rotterdam city into delicious powders for seasoning basic dishes, packaged in organic paper made from leaf waste of the market.

The two flavors presented were Pepper, Tomato and olive and Mango, Lemon and Mint, chosen to represent the cultures of the area in which the market takes place -  two members of the area from Cape Verdie and Morocco helped generate flavors.

This was a sustainability group project as part of an exchange at the Willem De Kooning Academy, Rotterdam, working with illustrator Odile Sips, Graphic designer Jennifer Hartveld and product designer Nikki Van Den Broek.
